Why It's Easy to Compare Yourself to Others But You Shouldn't

Comparing yourself to others is a part of being human. You can't just turn off your eyes and not see what the world around you beholds. However, be mindful that it's often said comparison is the thief of all joy. How can you be happy if you're never satisfied in the moment where you're at? I'd also like to note there's a difference between being fueled by a sense of dissatisfaction while working to achieve a goal versus general dissatisfaction in life. Does any of this really mean that your overall life is bad? I don't think so.

In my earnest opinion, I think the best thing you can do is find reasons to enjoy the person and vessel you are while also having the opportunity to continue striving to be the best form of yourself that you can be, if you so choose. That's what makes this experience of life so interesting. We all have freewill to be and do whatever it is you set your mind to. And there's no reason to shame yourself along the way by comparing yourself to others.  Everyone operates at different capacities and no two people share the exact same journey. It's never a reason to get down on yourself if someone has what you perceive as more than you whether physically, financially, materially, career or relationship-wise, etc. It should simply be used as a tool to inspire you what's possible, not necessarily what has to be.
